Just like Christmas!!

The past week has been like my own personal celebration at my house! On Saturday I received a shipment of 1000 yards of neon green, emerald, and black tulle and 18 emerald green feather boas, yesterday I received a shipment of 45 yards of taupe sequin lace and 45 yards of ivory spandex, and I just checked online and FedEx tells me that today I will be receiving 18 yards of neon green spandex, 20 yards of black stretch lace, 10 yards of black sequin tulle, 8 1/2 yards of neon green powernet, 200 feet of elastic, and a big bag of hooks! To top it all off I will be ordering rhinestone necklaces, hair combs, buckles, and earrings by the end of the week! HOW EXCITING!!

For those of you who don't know me well - and most of the 10 of you do I am sure - I have a certain creative drive that overwhelms me from time to time. The mountain of fabric and supplies listed above will, over the course of the next three weeks, magically transform themselves into 34 dance costumes for the Colorguard and Poms teams at the high school! (I use the term "magically transform" to quickly explain the dark storm of work, swearing, headaches, mess, etc. that has already begun to fall upon my household - it is going to be so much fun!!)

So far the emerald tulle has all been cut to size and dagged (cut zig zaggy so it lays flatter and transitions more smoothly when layered) and tonight I will do the neon and black so all that will be left for them is ruffling and putting them all together! Hopefully I will have some helpers over the weekend and I can get them all done in time for a performance on Feb. 1!
